Mr. Sorapong Paitoonphong, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Transportation of Thailand, together with esteemed executives, warmly welcomed Mr. Nattapong Punthakeirtpaisarn, Mongolia Honorary Consul of Phuket and Phang-nga, Thailand, for discussions on transportation collaboration between the two nations.
During his recent visit to Mongolia, Mr. Nattapong held discussions with the Minister of Road and Transportation of the Government of Mongolia on key matters, including the airport expansion project and the possibility of increasing direct flights between Thailand and Mongolia. On this occasion, he conveyed the Minister’s message to the Thai authorities.
The Deputy Permanent Secretary, along with Krittika Buranadis, Transportation Technical Officer Advisory Level, Office of Transport and Traffic Policy and Planning (OTP) and Sarun Benjanirat, Deputy Director General of The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT), expressed their support for all initiatives aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation. Mr. Sorapong further suggested the establishment of a Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) between the two governments, enabling all relevant agencies to work together under a unified framework. He also shared his invaluable expertise on Thailand’s transportation infrastructure development and master plan, emphasizing the importance of fostering closer ties in logistics and transportation.
Both sides also discussed the direct flight proposal, recognizing its potential to create significant growth opportunities.
